I love cryptpad for personal use, especially the forms, and I tell everyone who will listen to try it. I tried to get a collaborative writing group to use the documents for a project but we couldn't find features for track changes / suggested edits, and comments. Did we miss something?

Is it still active or are you trying to archive it? The best way to keep something live (which is not necessarily the goal of archiving) is to have human infrastructure and continuity plans to do so. Which you clearly have done well in the past decade, or there's some guy who cares enough to have done that alone, but in order to sustain the content over time you need distributed care.

I'm excited to share that today, the Public Archives Resiliency Act was introduced in the US Senate! The legislation supports increased appropriations to IMLS and NHPRC to fund climate resiliency efforts of archives and archivists, including increased staffing and no cost share requirements. For years I've wanted to write a guide to academic self-publishing and community peer review. This is the primary way I've published but I learned it / made it up as I went along. I feel like there MUST be a guide somewhere out there already, though? (If not, I want to make it. I fear duplicating resources!)

The job search did a number on my mental health. 4 times I made it to the final round, all required presentations etc. 3 times I was recruited but no interview. I was selective, they were all dream jobs. I ended the search for my mental health, and started getting contracts immediately. Success!! It should be a bigger compliment than the rejections. Yet the rejections still keep coming after I've given up, to remind me that I'm unemployable in the spaces I built up my career to be in.

Because it's terrible for the environment, is a good reason to never use AI. Reducing water access from vulnerable populations to make a joke is irresponsible. No one needs it.

there is a whole academic and practical discipline around this problem and there are tons of underemployed people with MLIS's who can do records management. You have to have a retention schedule and other processes in place for AI/ML to help from there. Someone has to manage the strategy and the AI implementation of it, even if there are parts that are augmented by ML.
