Republicans have installed or tried to install full abortion bans in 24 states.
A Trump-appointed judge tried to ban a safe abortion pill and that can be tried again. Republicans in many states are pushing misinformation in order to attack birth control access next.

I think it’s ok to be cautious on that as well, depending on what name calling means to an individual. For example, if someone in my mentions is being racist, they’ll hear it.
I’ve been on social media re: political issues longer than most. Once people start, sometimes there’s only one way to stop them. Sometimes, an asshole is an asshole and might need to hear that. I get it but the politeness policing can go a bit far IMO.

One of the main reasons why we haven’t made enough progress on averting the negative effects of climate change is because Big Oil has invested billions in public relations to specifically obfuscate their responsibility while attempting to shift the blame to others.

NIMBY-ism is more of a challenge to renewable energy progress than maybe any other factor. People also protest things like wind farms and solar panel farms. Nuclear power is bad has about the same validity as wind cancer. Or batteries are killing us. Or there’s no way to recycle them. On and on.
Everything requires materials and risk. It’s not normal to be for some technologies but not others based entirely on the notion that some technologies are “natural” (an argument people regularly make about wind and solar) while others are not (nuclear fission.)
The risks of nuclear are vastly overstated.

Batteries are part of solidifying the renewable energy grid.

We can and should shift vehicles away from fossil fuels. We can and should reduce the need for excess driving of personal vehicles possible, responsibly.

I saw a post yesterday questioning why the U.S. is investing in projects for electric vehicles but not investing in public transportation. That’s just false.
First, we aren’t getting rid of cars. We are too spread out and it’s doubtful that public transportation will be available in entirely where everyone, everywhere, at every time of day will need it.
