Each relay is allowed to censor / moderate by its own rules but the discovery of new relays is not dependent on your existing relay list. So a govt might block access to relays, new ones can pop up and users can publish to them to get around censorship.
I don’t think relays currently exchange posts with each other. A relay proxy (relay relay?) would make the nostr network more resilient

There are so many internet shutdowns in India because india allows local district authorities to decide if they want to shutdown it. Like a local curfew on physical movement. Afaik it does not need approval from even the provincial govt

The whole point of Ditto is that it exposes the Mastodon API. So, in theory, any Mastodon client will connect with ditto dot pub.
note: I haven’t managed to get it to work.

I remember one of the earliest delights on BlueSky was that it - the app - looked and behaved so much like OG Twitter. Quoting worked perfectly too. Remember that it was at a time when Mastodon folks are shooed away a lot of Twitter migrants saying that their old habits were not welcome on Mastodon.
The app was, and is, a delight to use. We don’t give enough credit for UX for driving growth.
