@npub1kpw…xzz4 The reason I posted this particular article by Reich is it matches my personal experience. And it shows how moderates and centrists are not the same. I used to live in an area where John Birchers had daily columns in the local newspaper, but at that time I never imagined they would take over the Republican party. The political right now is very very far right, while the far left has stagnated. So Reich is correct on how the distance between the wings is very wide.

I remember when trades people & factory workers could afford a boat & an RV, when wages were fair, now they are not. I remember when there were not many homeless families, & if there were, agencies had enough staff to help them. The current environment is because the rich have dissociated themselves from the USA, are no longer interested in the common good. They want to get rid of social security, for instance.

@npub1vc4…9kzl I haven't seen much Blue MAGA stuff here. Those sort of things seem to disappear into the void on Mastodon. But yeah, it's trying to suppress votes via the disenchantment route. It's a normal thing, saying your opponent is not that great after all. But the vitriol and lies to back up the blue MAGA is similar to the attacks on Hillary in 2016 and the thirty years prior.

But the timing of the article does raise some questions, coming just as the DOJ is making public progress. I still contend there are more MAGA fellow travelers in DOJ & FBI than people realize.
