We’re trying to watch a movie. Between my kids, my father, the puppy, and to a much lesser degree my mother-in-law (who doesn’t have dementia and isn’t a child or a dog but is a Movie Talker), I think we’ve managed no more than three minutes of uninterrupted viewing before SOMEONE needed SOMETHING or other. Good lord.
(For the record, the first fifteen minutes of Conclave, spread out over an hour, are pretty good.)

The act of nominating Gaetz is a power play. The people advising Trump know Gaetz is awful. There is sadistic glee in knowing that they can nominate him and that it will go through.
The nomination of RFK Jr. is similar, in that they know it’s upsetting to thinking people. His qualifications (such as they are) are immaterial: it’s that his nomination upsets people who care.
These are a signal to the willfully ignorant, the small-minded adult bullies of the country that they are in control.

Apparently my biggest hurdle would be figuring out how to pay for things; I know mobile payments are ubiquitous but apparently getting them to work with foreign cards/accounts is difficult? And getting I’m not sure how easy it would be to have my phone work there with a vSIM.
Of course, if those are the biggest hurdles…the world has come a long way.

My father likes to go through Important Documents and sort them to be Dealt With, but he doesn’t have any at the facility. My wife has started taking any important-looking spam we get and putting his name on it for me to deliver to him, so he can have things to do.
She’s a very good daughter-in-law; I’m very grateful.
(It doesn’t matter if it’s spam; he was taking random things from my sister like her mortgage statements and her son’s homework putting it in his box of documents.)
