Agreed, BUT: in my opinion they should fix the DMs first. Seriously, I don't get why they haven't implemented it yet. The DM-situation is a mess on these clients. I can see new people on Nostr being very pissed off when they realize that whole Nostr (and everyone outside by just looking into it) knows that one has contacted a sex-worker, human rights organization, a political party or what not. I can't code, but if @nprofile…deau has made it, then the others will probably be able too. It can't be that difficult and I don't understand this anymore.

Good decision. Windows itself became a virus. I don’t know what you mean by “Microsoft Laptop”, but I found that Linux works pretty good on Acer Laptops which are also very affordable. Just start with Ubuntu, Pop!_OS or Linux Mint and see if you like it. Basically all you have to do is get a USB-stick, flash a Linux Distro of your choice on it, plug the stick into your laptop, reboot and follow the instructions. Just visit one of the aforementioned distro websites. You’ll always find the instructions on there. And maybe this podcast episode could be worth listening to:

I am by no means a relay expert so I wouldn’t be able to give you any advice, but since nostr.wine is a one-time-subscription relay (doesn’t apply to their filter and inbox relay) just keep it. They seem to have improved it. I can’t detect any spam coming from their relay for days. Also, your configuration depends on if you are using a client with outbox model (e.g. Amethyst) or not. If you use a client like #Amethyst, follow @npub1gcx…nj5z ‘s guide here:

Anyone who knows me knows that I am by no means an opponent of Monero and how tired I am of Bitcoininfluencertalk, but apparently they have also started drinking a bit too much of their own cool-aid.
So much stupid stuff is beeing told there recently that I can hardly list it here. More and more shilling POS and shitcoins, giving Ethereum more benefit than to Bitcoin, constantly pretending that Monero can somehow scale magically but Bitcoin can’t and that Bitcoin is sooooo transparent that even owning a skyscraper in Manhattan is more private than owning Bitcoin 😂 This is the most stupid thing I’ve ever heard.
Anyway, probably another Podcast I won‘t listen to anymore. Too bad. It used to be a good one.

But there is a lot of other ongoing spam on Nostr at the moment other than the ReplyGuy. Replies with nonsense-content (not from the ReplyGuy), a lot of replying impersonators etc. To test my setup I took an iPhone and started #Damus which doesn’t implement the Outbox-Model, right? I have six wot-relays now plus two inbox-relays and yours and I can’t see none of the spam.

Ok, eventually I got rid of spam on #damus too and I also made sure I’m not missing DMs (except for the gift-wrapped ones of course which should be the only ones you use) by adding these three relays in addition to my six wot-relays:

So far everything works fine and the experience is clean.

Yes, agreed. I am also testing my new relay setup right now based only on WoT. I'm curious to see how the experience will change here from now on. So far I used to follow @nprofile…vzaw 's guide regarding my relay setup. So I paid for nostr.wine and configured the relays as Vitor suggested but with all these spam this whole nostr situation was unbearable.
