You know how it feels when you walk through a spiderweb and you catch it right in the face? You get the immediate, visceral disgust reaction and try to GET IT OFF as quick as possible.
But like, nobody can really see it. You can’t see it well, so you kind of flail around trying to catch enough of it to get it off of you, and everyone just sees you flailing around is like “what’s up with them??” cause they can’t see it either.
And then even after you get off (which is such a relief!!) it still sometimes feels like there’s some caught in your hair (even if there isn’t) or something crawling on you (even if there isn’t), which makes you mess around even more trying to get rid of it.
Anyway, gender dysphoria is like having a spiderweb on your face your entire life and transition is flailing around trying to get it off.

Linux workstation report: the desktop experience is about a decade behind the modern experience, which means everything works more less out of the box with a googling here and there and is pretty pleasant to use after some quality time with the the settings dialog.
This is a considerable step up from the out of the box experience with a Mac, which demands you sign into things right away and wants money for fairly basic software, and especially windows, which is an outright assault.

Everybody’s posting about the new pebble or the maybe the old pebble getting made again or something but I’m psyched for the Casio I just ordered used on eBay; it’s got a vibration alarm which is the main thing I use my Apple Watch for and you only gotta change the battery every few years.

@nprofile…rg89 agree it’s a different product category which is why I said TWS (well, I said twc because I’m bad a writing) earbuds, cause that’s what you’re talking about.
My hexas legit do a better job of blocking out the world than my airpods, even without ANC. Don’t get me wrong, the convenience of the airpods means they’re still what I use most by time spent but like, I mostly use em in transparency mode these days.
Wireless comes at a really, really high cost in product design terms. If you need wireless you need it, but if you don’t you can get much more bang for your buck and they don’t expire in 2.5 years like the batteries in TWS earbuds. So I try to always specify them as different things.

You may be hearing about which prisons trans women are to be kept in. You should know that trans women being kept in a men’s prisons are frequently intentionally given as rape victims to aggressive prisoners by prison authorities and officially punished if we resist. To quote Wikipedia on V-Coding:
A 2018 report from the Indiana Maurer University School of Law, along with a subsequent report in the UCLA Journal of Gender and Law, found that it was common for trans women placed in men's prisons to be assigned to cells with aggressive cisgender male cellmates to maintain social control and to, as one inmate described it, "keep the violence rate down". Trans women used in this manner are often raped daily. This process is known as "V-coding", and has been described as so common that it is effectively "a central part of a trans woman's sentence".
The report also found it "not unheard-of" for correctional officers to publicly strip search trans women inmates, before putting their bodies on display for not only the other correctional officers, but for the other prisoners. Trans women in this situation are sometimes made to dance, present, or masturbate at the CO's discretion.
The prisoners serving as "customers" for these women are informally referred to as "husbands". A 2021 California study found that 69% of trans women prisoners reported being made to perform sexual acts they would have rather not, 58.5% reported being violently sexually assaulted, and 88% overall reported being made to take part in a "marriage-like relationship". Trans women who physically resist the rape are often criminally charged with assault and placed in solitary confinement, the assault charge then being used to extend the woman's prison stay and deny her parole.
