My hexas legit do a better job of blocking out the world than my airpods, even without ANC. Don’t get me wrong, the convenience of the airpods means they’re still what I use most by time spent but like, I mostly use em in transparency mode these days.
Wireless comes at a really, really high cost in product design terms. If you need wireless you need it, but if you don’t you can get much more bang for your buck and they don’t expire in 2.5 years like the batteries in TWS earbuds. So I try to always specify them as different things.
