Musk is really similar to Trump. Gets rich through a hefty trust fund, bluster and lies, destroys everything he touches, and sucks up to dictators because he feels victimized when others make fun of him

Our article on cyber warfare and psychology during the pandemic and war in Ukraine (though written before Feb 2022). My co-authors are Ukrainian security experts. This was published by NATO, but US govt lawyers demanded that references to COVID disinfo from the White House be removed. (I'll be happy to provide anyone with the original version)- publication was also held up by military lawyers for around a year for unknown reasons.

@npub16fw…pec4 @npub1uw4…0g6n The environmental damage from the conflict is massive- it generally is for any war, but the Kremlin has been going out of its way to target infrastructure and resources, as a way of preventing anyone building back the communities (I saw similar patterns in former Yugoslavia). So *how* Ukraine is rebuilt is a huge issue, both where the money comes from, and how investment decisions are made. I'm worried that some in the West see this as a chance to make Ukraine into a libertarian paradise of free markets (and screw the locals)- the Heritage Foundation folks have been pretty brazen in advocating this, and that sort of disaster capitalism can easily win over legislators in DC and Brussels.

It's hard to describe how unscientific the Sackett v EPA SCOTUS ruling was today. By insisting that regulated waters only apply when there is "continuous surface connection" goes against everything we know about wetlands, runoff, and groundwater in watersheds.
Early in my career I did research on perchlorate, which was dumped en masse in the desert outside Las Vegas, many miles from any river. But somehow it found its way to the drinking water of Southern California...by magic? No, there are pathways that aren't obvious to the casual observer, which is why the Clean Water Act is based on science.
