I didn't think *that* much of it at first. But those are some truly appalling posts that I hadn't seen before. Makes the whole thing much ickier, with this Dubya-style "if you're not with us, you're against us" thinking provably being the case.
FWIW, people on Nostr are also pretty hostile towards AP, so it's not entirely unearned. But it's still not acceptable to refuse co-existence with other protocols altogether.

Latest Gandi pricing update WTF: They want to renew a .chat domain for ~50 EUR/year, while Namecheap quotes the retail price as ~30 EUR/yr but charges ~5 EUR/yr at the moment.

As of yesterday, we have to add the name Alex Pertsev to the list of peaceful, non-violent, political prisoners, who have wronged no other person, but only the pride of governments.
He developed a #privacy tool and was convicted for the potential crimes that *someone else* may have committed with the tool. There is zero evidence of himself having committed a crime, so the entire sentence of 64 months imprisonment is based on him merely writing decentralized #FOSS and running a Web GUI for it.

If I were to run a #fediverse instance for the official accounts of a small town, which implementation would you recommend?
Ideally, it'll be able to accommodate more post formats like e.g. events in the future, so extensibility would be a big plus. Built-in theming (colors at least) would also be a requirement, because I don't have the time to maintain a custom theme that potentially breaks when updating the software.
