Congrats to @nprofile…qx50 and team on this amazing multi-script architectural lettering, in “22 languages, 6 writing systems”, now being installed on the new University of Amsterdam, UvA, library. It’s been fascinating to follow along with the progress of this monumental feat. So cool to see it coming to life and I can’t wait to see it in person someday

@npub1urz…39sc I agree git is annoying sometimes, but indeed better than the alternative.
Thankfully I’ve managed to minimize most issues with git for font sources these days. At Robothon 2015 someone suggested I use SourceTree app and it has been a huge help for me. I’m curious what your most common issues are?

@npub1urz…39sc always yes. And once again I’m also pondering how many kerning pairs exist in popular fonts which have never been seen by an actual end user

Some arbitrary data I just figured out: for my last major retail typeface, Pennypacker, I made 2,620 git commits over the course of 77 months, averaging 33 commits per month.
I was working on other projects for those 6 years. And similar to “number of kerning pairs” etc more def doesn’t mean better. Still an interesting metric for myself to consider. My other large families were moved to git midway, but this project was in git pretty much from the beginning (8-15 glyphs each in 4 .ufo files)
