I agree with you. I think privacy wasn't Satoshi's highest priority when designing the protocol, he had enough challenges at that time and trade-offs to make. Now ist the time to improve privacy and there are several efforts to deal with it. Lightning, Ecash, ZK proofs, silent payments, payjoins and some others are examples. It is a matter of time, I think in the long term we won't need something like Monero.

Your project sounds really amazing. I was working with another guy on a Cashu escrow service over Nostr, cashu-escrow-kit on Github. But our focus moved to other projects in the last few months. You can come to the Cashu space on Matrix, I'll send you the link if you like. There are monthly Cashu dev calls, very informative. I also think Cashu is a good fit for your idea.

Yes, I agree. LN isn't free of critics, but still, it is a network functioning successfully since a couple of years and some improvements are coming. Moreover cheap LN payments are well integrated in Nostr as well. On the other hand the ecash protocols, while very promising and having other trade-offs, are still in an early stage.
