Proactive measures/policies to prevent spread of airborne infectious diseases like #Covid are a MUST for at-risk ppl
Individual masking is NOT enough. Everyone masking is much better
MOST EFFECTIVE is having proper air ventilation with filtration and fresh air exchange so aerosolized viruses don’t linger and CO2 levels are kept low
Combining masking AND ventilation is best
This not only serves the needs of at-risk ppl but benefits everyone

The problem is that most of these tasks require comprehension to do effectively, and LLMs don’t actually comprehend anything. “AI” can be great at parsing out patterns in large or difficult data, but it sucks at correcting language and content generation bc to it they’re just patterns to match, remix and extrude.

The point is that people were misled into thinking Covid is spread by droplets and someone would basically have to sneeze on you, but that was all based on erroneous assumptions that have since been proven incorrect. No, ofc Covid is not smoke. But Covid gets aerosolized and can travel great distances as smoke can. Transmission can and does happen outside. The aerosolized virus can linger in poorly ventilated spaces for HOURS.

“AI” may be fascinatingly useful at pattern discovery and pattern matching. But a bird dog has infinite more knowledge about what it’s retrieving. A barking dog has infinite more understanding of what it’s communicating.

My 2011 MacBook Pro is my go-to writing machine & is the only laptop I use
But I also have an old MB Air so slow it would gasp if it had a fan, 3 older Macbooks and 2 Windows laptops from the 00s. And all their power adapters.
The problem is how to unload the rest? Even if they boot, they’re too outmoded to be useful or donate. Can’t toss them into the landfill and the recycle center charges like $75 each to take them. So they lurk, forgotten.
