Some people are talking about the Dymaxion map projection on Bluesky, which seems to me like more of a Mastodon kind of topic, so here's a failed attempt at printing one and folding it into a D20 from a few years ago.
Next time I'll use better glue and print directly on card paper rather than sticker paper

Now that the peskiest bits of paperwork are done, I finally feel like I can let folks know that I'm headed to California early next year! I'll be starting a postdoc at California State University Fullerton, working on Cosmic Explorer. I'm really excited to be involved in the development of such a monumental project!

Folks who use screen readers: any recommendations for something easy to use and install on both a laptop and a phone? I'm trying to help out a close one who isn't too tech savvy and recently started having some eyesight issues, and have limited time visiting them to help out.

I went to the Bildmuseet when I was in Umeå and got to participate in a drop-in creative workshop where we could create art inspired by the forests of Sweden! It was quite cool to work with different and limited materials (including blueberry paint!), painting something totally different for me.

I used to always feel awkward telling people how many books I'd not read on my bookshelf, and I only now realise how silly that was. My bookshelf isn't there to be a museum of what I've read in the past, it's supposed to have unread books I can pick up and read!

I probably won't make any friends by saying this, but isn't imperfect masking still better than no masking? Telling people that if they take a sip of water on a flight they might as well not mask doesn't seem super helpful, especially given the harassment from anti-maskers too :|
I'm one of the only people I know who still masks. I'm not always 100% perfect about it. I don't think taking my mask off for 5 seconds to drink water indoors sometimes completely negates every precaution I take.
