The dog was convinced to go in the pool briefly today. He was not fond of this experience but it cooled him off so he could hang out there with us. He doesn't like being left alone in the house, but gets so hot out there...today was pretty steamy for a shaggy critter.

I was a Game Of Thrones fan. I resisted but I got swept in. What the hell is wrong with House Of The Dragon? It's got a good cast, the dragons look great, interesting characters, I enjoy the political intrigue- but damn, could that show be any slower? It's just so inert. It's as if whoever is directing it is determined to suck all the life out of the story. I love Matt Smith, but an entire season of Daemon looking at visions just isn't all that interesting and could've been covered in an episode. Great dragons, tho.

How's everyone doing? Husband is coughing a bit, but breathing ok. I basically have no symptoms except metallic Paxlovid taste. It's only day 3 for me, and 4 for him, so we'll see how this plays out. So far I'm massively bored. Happily there seems to be many episodes of Portlandia on the telly.

I'm sitting here astounded that my husband is hacking away with Covid and I'm sitting here feeling just fine. I went shopping. I wore a mask and got looks. The Covid wastewater rates are twice the national average here in MA, and yet I get weird looks for protecting everyone in Stop n Shop by wearing a freaking mask. People are so weird. Just read an interesting thread about folks becoming more conservative as they age. It certainly hasn't been true for me, nor was it for my mom. My mom was a very conservative youth and as she aged and grew became less conservative about *everything*. It was kind of interesting to watch.

I feel like I've grown up thinking the world was going to end at any moment. I was 10 during the Cuban Missile Crisis (and terrified). Is my generation the first to grow up with that constant fear? I checked out Threads. Not impressed. I like it here. It bothers me that more folks won't give this place a chance.
