which echoes a sentiment I and many friends in the space share. Hopefully people take note of how good the platform-layer/building blocks like Dear ImGui, Love2D, SDL3 are, and how reasonable it is to build a tool set suited to your tastes and workflow on top of them.

couldn't we also, not pointer chase? given their many one off specialized structures (e.g. https://youtu.be/vElZc6zSIXM?si=ed73GvUhex5s4T1D&t=470) I'm surprised they wouldnt have a more sophisticated allocation strategy backing those.

it uses the clang/gcc cleanup attribute[1] which provides destructor-like behavior, and a macro which wraps it up in a if-init style, so you can have intuitive brace usage.

just plain C code with @nprofile…jvvf 's awesome Dear ImGui. no dynamic allocation, cleanup handled automatically.
it wont compile on MSVC, but we are practicing self love and not entertaining hobby compilers 😌
