does "getting rid of CONFIG_VT" mean no more native text mode? That is, if the kernel doesn't have proper graphics drivers or their configuration is borked for some reason, then there's no way to fall back into text mode for debugging other than using a second computer and a serial cable? (for which I have no connector in my laptops)

Thanks for the reply, but that doesn't answer my question. I know what localhost is. The question is: Domain names can map to both IPv4 and IPv6 at the same time. In other platforms localhost maps to both 127.0.0.1 and ::1. Is there a reason why that is not the case as well on Ubuntu?

My Ubuntu box didn't have "localhost" for ::1 in /etc/hosts, only for 127.0.0.1. (I don't remember if that was the default or if I took it out at some point *). It does have ip6-localhost as a name.
Some tests in a third-party suite (likely written for macos) failed because of that. So I added localhost to ::1 in my /etc/hosts and the tests now pass.
(If that was even the default Ubuntu setup,) is there a reason why localhost is IPv4 only?

ah, that's not a translation (Portuguese for blond/blonde is loiro/loira (which if I had to guess, comes from "golden"?) ); using "galego" for blondes is slang, like using "cat" for jazz players.

I've always assumed it was because, if you take the west coast of the Iberian peninsula (Galicia and Portugal), the further north you go there's more Celtic influence, and the further south you go there's more Arab influence.

All I ask from my American leftist friends is that you pressure Harris into a more reasonable stance on Palestine. And if you say "now is not the time, we must beat Trump first", you're giving her a blank check to keep implementing Israel's agenda. The pitstop gap was 20 seconds. If Piastri pitted first that would be an safe P1 indeed, but wouldn't there be a risk for an undercut on Norris resulting in a P3 if he stayed out much longer?

IMO their call was fine, and Lando turned into a drama. Lando's attitude was ridiculous. They pitted him first to ensure he wouldn't fall back to P3, and he repays the team by making everybody uncomfotrable and making a mess out of Piastri's well-deserved first win.
And before anyone says that P2 was already safe, remember McLaren have been trashed for several races now for "bottling the strategy". They wanted to be 100% on the safe side with no room for error.
