@nprofile…t28l Once the array repair is done, I'll have about 14 TB ... I went with qty 5x 4.0 TB drives. I have a mix of #WD REDs and #Seagate IronWolfs. (Because I already had a couple WD REDs as ready to go spares should one of the old drives crap out -- never happened, but I was prepared).
I know - I could have easily gone with much bigger drives ... but I was only at about 60% before the upgrade ... and I got all 5 HDDs for like, $90 each.

Crap! this is taking for ever!
I have a #Synology #NAS which I have had for *many* reliable years of near daily use. I love having my own Cloud for family back up - totally worth it. (Suck my balls #Apple #iCloud !)
I started with qty 5x 3-TB drives in a raid 5 (well, BTRSF).
About a week later, I am on my last drive swap -- I pulled the last 3-TB drive out.
Felt good.
Now I wait the 24 hours for the array to rebuild. Once that's done - I hope to breath easy for many more years!

@nprofile…f0ve I understand. I guess I can classify myself as a "self-loathing, old-school, Apple fan-boy". I mutter "Apple sucks!" about once a day, honestly.
But the truth is that Apple sucks a little less than Winblows and Linux.
I fantasize about switching over to Linux exclusively, but the wife and kids would require me to be full-time tech-support - not worth it ... at least for now.
At some point, Apple will admit to spying on everyone and then I might switch to Linux and Graphene.

Anyone who has a #qidiplus4 printer, you've probably experienced completely crappy #wifi from the printer. The #qidi Plus4 wifi *REALLY BAD*.
On the main board, there are several USB plugs on the left side. One of these has a small USB Wifi dongle. I replaced mine with a TP-link Archer T2U Nano AC600 (USB 2.0). https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PB1X4CN?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1
HOLY CRAP it works SO MUCH BETTER! It's an amazing difference. Totally worth the $12 bucks! Actually Plug-n-Play.

Man! I *hate* #ETH and the whole ERC20 crap. #ETH fees suck balls - too damn high. And it really bugs that I have to use ETH to pay the fees for transferring some ERC20 token.

Got a used #iphone14pro; no SIM tray. Damnit. I had to request an #eSIM. Damnit!
The process was mostly painless, really, but #eSIM sucks big balls! I can’t pull it to plop into another phone for testing or whatever.
Damnit.
Previous phone was #iphone12pro -seems the *only* difference I can really point to is the 14pro has 3x zoom … woot … one more “zoom” than the 12pro. The “Dynamic Island” is stupid; what is the point?
Seriously. #Apple products suck now! At least my phone is purple 😐

#qidi plus 4 chamber SSR repair complete!
Worst part: getting the back panel off due to two little tabs and slots. The tabs are on the inside of the panel, the slots are on the metal frame. You have to get your hand up behind the panel with a tool to poke the tab out on the left side - blind (you can’t see). Then you and maneuver the panel off.
Tip: if you look closely on the outside, there is a slight divot about halfway up the side where the tabs are located. See pic. I marked mine.

I tried it - it worked! #tip for #3dprinting.
I have a #qidi Plus 4. I’ve use it a lot - mostly #petg. At first, adhesion to the textured PEI bed was great! Literally press print and walk away. But over time, I found the adhesion was getting worse - to the point where the first layer failed most of the time. #frustrated
I saw a post mention using steel wool and isopropyl alcohol to lightly sand and rough up the PEI. I was desperate. I tried it and it worked for me!

Santa brought me this #Qidi Plus 4 printer a bit early. A big upgrade from my #anycubic Vyper.
Perfect? No. Good? Very yes
One gripe is that after you press the print button, it takes like 10 minutes (feels like a long time) before it actually lays down line of the print.
Another is WiFi reception is weak.
That said, it handles PETG like a champ. Now I need to get some ABS to give that a good test.
Qidi already sent me the upgraded chamber relay … so good on them.

@nprofile…smnu This may be controversial, but in my experience with home aquariums (limited), a neutral pH is good, but don't freak out if it isn't. Every water change is going to throw pH off.
The fish will tend to adapt as long as the pH doesn't swing wildly.
In other words, if your tap water is basic and the fish are "used to it" because of water changes etc., you don't need to "fix" it back to neutral.
It's way more important to worry about ammonia and nitrates.

@npub1kx8…0sus I’m not a follower, but I have a pixel with GrapheneOS. It works fine. Really. Like as a daily driver, it’s functional (with limitations, see below).
That said, you determine how “functional” it is based on how private you want it. No Google means no Google Maps.
Also, I haven’t figured out how to use an NFC payment app that I trust (i.e. ApplePay, GooglePay). That’s my biggest roadblock and why I am not using GrapheneOS as my daily driver.

The scariest thing I can think of this #Halloween is a #Harris loss (however well deserved it may be)!

Based on the handful of clips I saw from the vice presidential debate, I ask myself this question:
Which of these two candidates could step up and take over and be president should the need arise?
With that frame, Vance is the clear winner based on this debate.
