Interesting…
As someone who likes bread (too much), bread appears often in the story when characters eat, but beyond that, I hadn’t delved into varieties.
Partly, that’s because, in Carrdia, you’re lucky to eat at all & are thankful for whatever bread you’re given. That means, your most basic bread. I do, though, have some locations where I could expand the possibilities.

most difficult character to write?
I enjoy writing all my characters, even antagonists.
Voice is fun. They all have quirks, which is why I act out parts & read aloud.
Really, the more odd or quirky they are the more I enjoy myself. Demon Greeze’s odd way of talking, for instance. There’s the stiff cadence of most wizards. Seer Maniff’s intellect comes across as natural & endearing—at least it does to Riparia.

indie books
I’ve read quite a few indie novels, but the best, by far, & for a long list of reasons, remains The Making of Gabriel Davenport by Beverley Lee.
I normally don’t read horror (actually, I avoid it), but I knew her online & this novel was more like gothic suspense. It was excellent. I appreciated how well written it was, with fascinating characters and an extremely well-developed plot.

Between short stories, novellas, & novels, I’ve touched on pretty much all those that interest me.
In 2015, I went on a short story rampage trying different genres. That led to developing Pannulus & writing other genres beneath the fantasy umbrella.
Thus, I’ve written adventure, gothic, holiday, mystery, noir, romance, suspense, western, women’s fiction, YA, & more often try different combinations.

religious conflicts
The religions of old were erased. Now, the Ministry tries to force a deadly, fake religion upon people. Private beliefs remain. A radical religion festers.
So, yes, I’d say there are conflicts.
Those conflicts grow worse as the series progresses & the radical religious group based, in large part, on wealth, rises.
In the face of all that, my main characters seek clarity…

No snippet. There are too many, & I don’t have power (33 hours & counting).
They’re always the most heartfelt, emotional scenes for one reason or another.
An early one is when Riparia, the only healer option available, goes to assist a girl. There’s her using a gift she doesn’t like to acknowledge, grief over those she’s lost, & discovering a situation worse than expected.
There’s also the distraught parents & the girl, Trayla, who Riparia never forgets.

I use more character background, but compared to the whole, it’s little. That sprinkled in past more influences & guides than it appears as facts.
The amount is less for worldbuilding because there’s so much. I’ve been expanding it for two decades, & worked on it for one before I started writing any of it down. Then again, maybe all the little bits add up.

Process
Mine is always evolving & adapting to each book. Each book is different, presents its own challenges.
Narratives are the key for me, about backstory, characters, culture, history, worldbuilding & more. Then, plot. At times, they overlap, but as long as I’m telling some kind of story I’m happy.
The final plot narrative is extremely flexible, a runway carpet so wide I can swerve from side to side & still remain on it.

Maybe because I’ve seldom experienced it in my life, & so have studied its power from afar, what’s often stressed in my stories in one form or another is people working together.
It pops up all over the place. Causes. Couples. Friendships. Found families. Groups. Movements. Teams. It’s often messy, but they’re often effective, & what the opposition most fears because oppression has only the mind of “one.”

world trade
There’s no extensive trade across the continent. The Brillica Cataclysm put an end to that. Beyond that, it’s spotty. There’s trade within some nations, but even then it’s sometimes spotty & often restricted to the elite.
The healthiest economy & trade is in Pannulus. In Carrdia, it’s restricted to the major cities beyond Lake Radiance. Extreme poverty doesn’t do a good job of powering trade.

An entire world map would be quite the undertaking, though I've seen plenty of map nerds who've done it. A rough sketch for your reference only to keep you oriented would be good enough.
