Yeah, I want specific product names, not just umbrella brands. It is up to me to notice how often and how many things I might buy contribute to Nestle, for instance. It doesn't need to be all 5 types of Hormel chili, but it needs to not just say Unilever and leave me to figure out what I might buy from Unilever (Dove soap, Ben and Jerry's ice cream).

When I download it I am asked 30 questions about how I feel about issues and there is a sliding 1 to 5 scale going from support for to 100% against. It has things like use of fossils fuels, unions, a minimum wage, reproductive rights.
Then everyday it sends me a list of 5 products to boycott and why based on company or ownership stands on my specific issues, and 1 new question.
Based on several institutes that track policy stances and legislation.

Had an exhausting series of interviews last week.
It is fairly obvious to me now, whether I get or do not get any specific job is not up to my performance in an interview. Nobody asks specific knowledge based questions. If I don't get a job it is about the random biases of the interviewing committee, and whether I trigger any of them - fat, poor, intellectual, or just not looking like the other people they have doing the job now.

I think the thing that I have learned most through this time of looking for employment is that millions of people can move out of the job market, labor shortages are at an all time high, the most experience employees have retired without passing on their tribal knowledge, there are price pressures across the board to increase wages, yet employers can not & will not give up their sense of entitlement.
There's no urgency. No streamlining of the hiring process.

I like to think that this woman was a stranger to the photographer and she never told her that she snapped the photo, it is in public after all. Besides the obvious near camouflage, there is a secondary subject about "paying attention" implied by the woman on the phone in front of the ocean, while the photographer was paying attention and lined up this photo - being present in the moment vs not being present in the moment.

After a few replacements she ended up with a camera we can't get pictures off of, a TV that nothing can plug into, a phone that she refuses to learn to text on. I have tried just gently asking her questions to introduce the idea of something, but she is so defensive. So she sits in ignorance, because she is afraid of learning anything new. And I have to just let it go.

Basically quality control at an Engineering Tech level. And basically manufacturing in my state will hire all positions except executives through a temp agency to handle drug testing and make it easier to fire people. The last place I worked even kept people on the temp agency's payroll for a full year, which I found shocking.

He didn't have a chance to rub off on me because I was adopted and my patents were divorced by the time I was five. But, my mom was married to him for 20 years before she divorced him for sleeping with his secretary 1 year after he won an election to be sheriff in Sweet Home, and I still blame her for her tolerance.

If you want to change something in the past, you need to preserve everything that you know did happen, and only try to change things that you have no awareness of.
And trying to change a known past means that you have already failed, you just don't know how yet.

But the online community on Reddit just gives away fleet comps and in response to the META community the game has tilted towards very strong individual ships, and away from fleet wide buffing synergy.
If it is a strategy game, and people just borrow someone else's fleet comp, who is even playing?

Well, that's the annular eclipse in Oregon. I glanced at the window and went, "wow, that is unusually dark" and looked at the clock and it was 9:24am. Then I went to a window and looked at the sun, through the fir trees, through the clouds, and noticed... nothing of course. Not even remotely disappointed, because I knew that even under ideal circumstances an annular eclipse would be too bright to see the solar winds or look at canyons on the perimeter of the moon.

I was listening to a podcast that I normally like & they were analyzing her response as a reporter tried to corner her into being super specific, opening her up to criticism and nitpicking. She stuck to her guns with the answer she gave and was polite but tough. And these guys criticised her for a thing they would complement a man on. It made me so disgusted that I deleted the episode. #HappyKiteDay from Saturday at the Washington State International Kite Festival. Today we had the Parade of Colors (banners), the Cody Fly (Cody war kites), and the Flat and Bowed Kites Mass Ascension, as well as numerous sport flier ballet in both 2 and 4 line kites and pairs or teams. The wind has been light to medium, rarely exceeding 7mph. Temperatures are in the 70s, overcast sky, horizon to horizon, but it makes a nice break from the past several days.

Children are a captive audience for brain washing. The propaganda is being written now, but it is up to parents to bring lawsuits that say the bias is against their civil rights.
Other people can begin working on plans to flee Florida, a state with a limited future anyway.
At this point, it seems like the next person to run for governor of FL just needs to say, "I'm going to undo all the stuff that he did". Sadly, a lot of this stuff is enacted by emboldened local officials.

But if I am adding a lot of pictures to a multi-page toot, the last page may not be done for an hour or more after the first. Somebody on here said the other day that they would accept him "stepping down from politics" as a punishment and said that it worked well in Agnew's case. I have rarely been so mad. Trump is a particularly arrogant criminal who is currently facing 78 charges, and he was found liable for being a rapist (yes, the judge ruled that what he did counts). To NOT have him spend time in prison should have more Americans rioting than the reverse.

I agree that big companies are usually psychopaths, but I am glad to see knee jerk defederation is not the default path for the instance I am on. I am pretty sure the crops they are calling "America's bread basket" are actually the low quality, mass produced ones that they are feeding to animals - which is not the most efficient way to allocate scarce resources. So..., they'll do everything, including trying to get average people to take the blame, except change business practices.
Yeah, that sounds about as expected.

American here. I did that once, had to pay with a credit card. Getting over pneumonia, which I delayed going to the hospital for a month because I was poor, cost me $3,000 in the 90s. More than my first car, or my second car. They billed me separately for the hospital (2hr = $2k) and the x-rays (+$1k).
Don't follow us. For profit healthcare is a travesty. Conservative ideas only work if the poorest are paid 4x more and no one steals that increase from us for rent.

Hell, Tucker Carlson was probably a paid under the table asset. Look at him now. Putin failed.
What is the thing that Putin fears most? A functional and effective democracy, right on Russia's doorstep, that includes ethnic and linguistic Russians that might communicate across that border.
He is desperately afraid of it, and will spend a generation of Russian wealth and people to try & defeat it, but he has only united Ukraine and made them an international symbol.

The thing about the war in Ukraine is, it shows off Putin's weakness, not his strength.
He tried to have a puppet government in Ukraine. He failed.
He tried to manipulate a US election and picked a team so dumb they didn't know what to do. He failed.
His useful idiot in the US failed reelection. Putin failed.
He deployed the Russian military for a 2nd time. They continue to fail daily, weekly, monthly. He failed.
He is against NATO expansion. He failed.

Conservatives get into power and immediately make these changes and try to destroy the ability of them to be undone, BUT they do so blatantly and quickly because they are afraid that they will never have such power again. They can see the direction society is going, towards more equity, equality, and choice.

This is too cynical, especially for a democracy.
Having a government that works properly is an achievable goal.
We have to compromise with other people, and that means we don't all get what we what, and sometimes things are illegal that we wish weren't, but generally our government works well more often than not, through the good efforts of good people.
If it wasn't a force for good, bad people wouldn't struggle to try and take it from us.

A "News" company that hasn't been in the news business for decades. When their lawyers say the programming is not meant to be "news" they were admitting the purpose has been propaganda all along. But it was inevitable that Fox would be so used to lying about public figures that they would get confused and start lying about average citizens in an average business. Dominion is basically dead forever, they should take every cent so every last employee can retire wealthy.
