Well, that's the annular eclipse in Oregon. I glanced at the window and went, "wow, that is unusually dark" and looked at the clock and it was 9:24am. Then I went to a window and looked at the sun, through the fir trees, through the clouds, and noticed... nothing of course. Not even remotely disappointed, because I knew that even under ideal circumstances an annular eclipse would be too bright to see the solar winds or look at canyons on the perimeter of the moon.
