I think I just learned, via an exchange that came across my feed, that it pisses anarchists off when the rest of us think/expect that the world and its systems can nearly always be counted on to keep acting the way the world and its systems presently are.
Which leads to the corollary that many of us then draw: we have to work within present functioning to prepare soil for what's next.

Neither spouse nor I have become more conservative as we've moved into middle age (we've actually been radicalized across a number of vectors). What I have become, however, is much more pragmatic. I am fine to talk theory and it's important to hold ideals, but at the end of the day (and the conversation, even) I want to know what we can accomplish together IN THE WORLD. I honestly consider 'workability' a MORAL issue, because harm happens in real time.

In short, compassion but zero capitulation to what can only cause harm. The trick here was when three year olds talked adults on the left into negotiating with toddler talk, and pretending that 'respect' means engaging it as credible discourse.

This is, above all else, a NORMATIVE shift. Something has given way and it is now felt to be ok to openly talk in ways that suggest, legitimize, or necessitate the deaths of groups of people. This extends to the ways that are permissible to kill people, the ways that it's socially acceptable to treat and employ people, the business culture and product-function practices increasingly designed to extract from people, and the political practices built primarily to ignore people.

Today I learned that tide pod casings (and similar) COULD be made from biosources, but in actuality are plastic derived from petrochemicals. This plastic is called PVA, and it's nominally water-soluble, but only becomes fully dissolved under very particular circumstances.
Put frankly, it's just more plastic. If it's all the same to you, as it is to most of us, maybe just avoid them.
I learned this with dissolved PVA all over my hands (long story) and am not thrilled about that, either. 😬
