This is, above all else, a NORMATIVE shift. Something has given way and it is now felt to be ok to openly talk in ways that suggest, legitimize, or necessitate the deaths of groups of people. This extends to the ways that are permissible to kill people, the ways that it's socially acceptable to treat and employ people, the business culture and product-function practices increasingly designed to extract from people, and the political practices built primarily to ignore people.
