What I would like to see: Some sort of organisation that can deescalate conflicts; if that fails, they are empowered to remove people from the situation. If necessary, someone may have to be removed from society for a while and get the help they need, or as a last resort, prevented from harming others. One that doesn't cause more problems than it solves, one that uses force as a last resort, and has training to reduce bias. One that people aren't afraid to call.
What we have: a bunch of thugs who are useless most of the time, are way too quick to kill someone, are racist as fuck, and instead of taking people to hospital, toss them in jail.

I'm okay with commerce for things you don't need, although I believe in regulation and cracking down on price gouging etc. I don't see any problem with that. I think anyone should be allowed to create an undertaking and not just create it, but get support for their undertaking too. Call it a company if you want, I don't care. Not just private support, but public support too.
And every undertaking should be about innovation, not maximising profit. As long as it's not consuming a shitload of resources (social or physical) for limited to no benefit to anyone, or has the potential to be net beneficial, I think it should be considered successful. I don't have patience for harmful grifter shit and neither should society.

I'm not.
I'm not a Capitalist either.
I'm definitely left of Bernie, and I'm definitely not a fan of whatever shit this system is. It's something I think worse than Capitalism. It's like a grotesque, twisted version of what was already a horrifying creature.
I prefer not to put a label on it. If you had to, you could call me a Market Socialist. Kind of. I'm not really that either, I don't believe in unregulated markets nor do I think many things should be a market (if you need it to live it should not be for sale).

We are finally beginning to see mainstream outlets tell the truth:
Very little plastic is recyclable, or recycled.
The "chasing arrows" were put on the packaging and the lie that plastic is recyclable was pushed so municipalities in the 80's wouldn't ban plastic.

I agree with the statement in this article: plastic will never be recyclable, not in the traditional sense, unless it is broken down into constituent atoms and those are used in other things. The material is just not amenable to it.
