well my set up is one of those halfsie m2's in an atom bo x uh i don't want to use too specific but it's got libreboot, The performance is not too important, i could just not do lvm, but i need fde, i also need to not encrypt the base system so i can ssh into it, so the lvm would be for the shared/uservar/ an maybe srv partitions... so i have encrypted volumes on a little shitty ssd and i need to manage them logically. luks lvms seem like the way to go, tho i suppose i could just just a bunch of regular primary particians,in the way one would other g0 gu devices, is lvm really a performance hit these days? i expect it to last a few years and then poof

good to know... by 'manually stacking them' do you mean like, manually getting checksum between certain tasks by just typing it in? or i suppose one could set up a cron job, or is there some automated checksum service that could interface with the lvm manager with some scripting...?
i'm wondering how often you actually *need* to check integrity of the disk, considering every write to disk changes the checksum (right? lol) crc32 makes sense most of the time, because it's fast and you really just want to make sure the disk hasn't been corrupted, say between reboots or on mount/diskmount, but using integrity checks as part of a security / pwn detection protocol is is different concern than random borking, which is why crc32 is used, i guess, it's not supposed to be a "security* feature
i'm not very smart and i'm going to be doing a rather complicated server install involving encrypted and unencrypted volumes/groups, so i do appreciate *anything* you can offer on this issue, haha

would give the movie credit for a few things, making good effort to reflect source material, and the horror that comes with the themes, i mean those girl bots are fucking terrifying -- i felt it did drag a bit towards the end and there's some contemporary anime cliches that are pet peeves of mine, but still give it like like 3/5

what did ya'll think of the netflix movie?
i mean it was okay but they really missed the point by trying to focus on action and plot when it's more just about atmosphere, like a proper film would be much more like Tarkovsky's Stalker where the characters just wonder around the mainframe and encounter things friendly or dangerous and just take in the unfathomable scale of waste

people really do trip over that tho, I've seen people who are literally visually impaired get dragged for not adding alt text, which continues after they explain this
While encouraging people to write alt text is good, browbeating ain't the best way to go about it, features such as being able to filter out images without alt text which do much more for people using screenreaders, and 'suggest alt text' buttons would let other people with the spoons write image descriptions besides the author

So you're right to say that American money does not go directly into financing Israel's healthcare system. That is misinformation or at best, a gross oversimplification. But it is true that the Israel economy as a whole is propped up by US military subsidies.

I'm sorry but no, The US does give billions to Israel directly in the form of grants for both economic and military development, direct arms giveaways have been increasingly lately but that's not actually the norm

The military grants are slated primarily to buy weapons from US arms dealers, but also Israeli firms, there's also obviously administrative overhead, training, R&D, HR shit that goes to. I mean what is 'military spending' but necessarily a state secret. And again about 50 Billion is 'economic aid' whatever that means, it's not just non fungible artillery shells like you say. The way War Keynesianism works is military spending has a multiplier effect on the whole of the economy.
