@nprofile…5hte @nprofile…eqw3 For a while, I belonged to a FB group on kefir, while I was learning how to make my own kefir (turns out to be very easy). So many people there insisted raw milk kefir was better and the moderators wouldn't shut that talk down. I left the group (after posting about the dangers of raw milk). Crazy people. They will contract something, perhaps H5N1, and give it to the rest of us.

We've had this bed on our front porch for months, maybe a year, and yesterday for the first time Izzy decided to sit on it. I was about ready to give it away. Guess it is more comfortable than the concrete porch in colder weather. #DogsOfMastodon #SpringerSpaniel #rescuedog

Happy 4th Gotcha Day to Izzy! Hard to believe that this little bundle of love has been living with us for four years. She has come a long way from the dog who was too scared to play and who would hide behind our couch at night to sleep. She is still a very cautious dog, but she is much improved! #dogsofmastodon #rescuedogs

Izzy, our fearful rescue Springer spaniel, for reasons known only to her, loves to roll over in relatively fresh asphalt. (She will also roll over in bird poop.) I have no idea why she likes the smell of asphalt – most dogs avoid it. But you can see from the video here how enthusiastic she is about this. Luckily, it doesn't seem that the smell really gets on her coat. (This asphalt is about two months old, but she still likes to roll in it.)

Sometimes, when she is napping, Izzy will roll over on her back and sleep with her legs in the air. She seems to do this more if I am in the room and taking a nap too. She is a nervous rescue and did not do this for the first two years she lived with us. #mondog #rescuedogs #DogsOfMastodon
