The current right-wing rebrand is the "Intellectual Dark Web," which was forwarded in 2018 by Bari Weiss, a right-wing libertarian who presents herself as a centrist.
The New York Times allowed her to print a highly misleading piece about the IDW that did not include any statements from historians or political scientists about past right-wing rebranding efforts.

Right-wing leaders must continually rebrand because each time it works and they get elected, they implement policies that result in huge problems like the Great Depression, giant foreign wars, huge deficits, or pandemic disasters.
