I would love to agree and it sounds great. But in this approach I fail in “verify” due to my lack of skills for that, so I can either learn it (very unlikely) or to choose to trust to someone (could be you or other helpful guys here), or Tim Cook 😁
As a lay person in this, I would only have dumb questions like which phone brand to choose and which cloud or way of storage to use.

I see it almost impossible to be technically detached from everything like that. Because there always is something. And for example inside EU there are cameras everywhere, now most services are KYC and then I have to balance to still have friends and family and maintain the schizophrenic fear of leaving track behind me.
Based on what I read throughout the years until now (important note), I feel quite safe with Apple and iCloud.

I got involved in building a few teams, not in the managenent, but I watched it closely and I admired all the people, even if it mostly failed and the hype vanished and eventually it settled on a nice family hobby clubs, sometimes in quite high league tiers, but ambitionless.

Even if not doing anything “illegal”, I never understood the region-based rights for media. The concept of not speaking the same language as the region you currently stay in has to be mindblowing to media corporations and distributors. They are lagging behind the present like 20 years, if not more.
I still remember 2008 me going to KFC for a free WiFi to download a crack for FIFA08 I bought because I didn’t have internet connection in my apartment yet.
I thought it was the bottom. Wrong.

It seems you didn’t take the time to think about values and main strengths of your project, so then the discussion can be only like/dislike of a graphical element and color scheme. The first presented logo with 🤙 I didn’t like but it looked like a friendly, diverse and open app. Which are the keywords you could think about with the designer. maybe this is a good use case for AI to help you brainstorm the keywords based on your vision.

“History is written by the victors”, agree, that is the important part here, because in retrospect we can see all the atrocities of the wars and regimes, but those are not fully controlled and are sparked by the chaos of sudden change of direction of the huge states and millions of people, of which many are sick to the bone, but then there is no stopping of it and each new atrocity is just one more turn of the screw on a way to the previously intended goal. There is no way back. After all the dust settle, the victors forbid, decentivize and socially discourage a proper review of all the acts. Even less teaching the complexity in schools, because the ambiguity of events (not values) is undesirable for any new regime due to a limited time for establishing itself in a matter of one or two decades. It’s not black&white except of killing and stealing. And I agree that all states are guilty of the latter one. Who doesn’t fight wars? Owners of the mines and real estates that are being protected by the citizens who didn’t opt-in but been born-in.

The business challenge is real and as far as I can tell there are incredible money being spend on solving this by SaaS and on-prem tools in B2B sector as well as enterprise-level and government. While open-source is not a bad word anymore I would give this a chance. Youtube content was made on a strategy of many incentives and broad promotion via Google Search and Chrome and cookies. And that will be impossible to replicate. But it could spark a new types of art, education and entertainment. Or recycle some, as podcasts nicely recycled old radio formats. 🤞 I find the most useful informative and educative videos on Youtube having between 2.000 to 50.000 views. And those doesn’t make that much money I guess, so technically these creators can move with no problem since Youtube’s new strategy is to avoid monetization of the small creators. But still the algo gives them a good chance to get a lot of traffic if they work their ass off. So the promise is there.

I’m afraid the knowledge isn’t enough. The brain is prone to addiction, since it’s a highly effective system also for all the beneficial regular stuff we do. Alcoholics who do fight that can’t have a sip until the end of their lives. That strong system it is. A nice book about how it is for the addict on a socially accepted drug wrote Matty Perry from The Friends, before he died. Usually books on addiction are about hard drug addicts and I never felt the connection, but this one got me.

The first clips will create a dopamine loops based on created emotions, it can be whatever, even a disgust. Then the loops will get connected to the physical movement, the swipe. It can be a sound (pornhub, netflix, phone vibration).
Then slowly the loop will move before the swipe, so the expectation of the swipe and the potential emotion will be enough to release the dopamine.
But over time the amount of dopamine decrease and you’ll have to swipe more and more often to squeeze something.
And the algo just makes sure to keep you in doing that based on their retention metrics.
