@nprofile…args I wonder if even this is something we'll be going back on. It's in living memory that people *were* forced to use their right hands for everything, usually by corporal punishment as well as ostracization. With the range of "acceptable" bodies reverting to white, male and abled, I wouldn't be surprised to find right-handedness on the list sooner than later.

Give yourself permission to sob on the phone. Loudly. From the time you pick up til the time you hang up. Take as many attempts as you need to get words out.
Whoever's on the other end, they're the ones who've refused text-based accommodations. You don't have to hide from them what they're doing to you, even if it's just a low level employee.
Just as screaming helps on a roller coaster - sobbing helps get through a phone call.

I don't think I ever saw those little half-millimeter black-legged nymph #ticks until a year or two ago. I've had two on me already this year. My neighbor had #Lyme last year and I don't like this at all.

@npub19fc…ay3c You can't look inside every kid's head, but behavior that has a cruel effect is just plain cruel IMO.
Pretty much every kid has experienced it, and a lot more of them have been part of the "in-group" than the 2-3 kids per class on the receiving end.
Kids are cruel. :-/

Both parts, though. The first part is why police killings are overwhelmingly racist, ableist and classist. They're trained into an "us and them" mentality, in which "they [i.e. you and me]" are all trying to kill "us [i.e. cops]" and need to be killed first.
Most of them brought to their training an attitude that marginalized people are per se menacing, and their training expressly reinforces those prejudices.

The next rung is fighting voter suppression to ensure everyone CAN vote. There are a lot of ways to do that. Participate in VR drives. Volunteer for VoteRiders or another organization that helps people get voter ID in states where that's required. Testify against voter suppression bills. Donate to Black Voters Matter, Common Cause, LWV and other voting rights orgs. Etc

Most definitions of intelligence come down to either whiteness or obedience. "AI" as currently implemented, has both as pretty much its defining characteristics.

I believe death is the end of consciousness (and I'm fairly close to my own), because I believe it's the body that brings the energy into a form capable of consciousness. I believe that after death, the energy still exists, but not as a discrete (conscious) entity.
The analogy I use is a glass of water. The body is the glass; at death, it breaks. The water still exists, but not as a "glass of water."
