I’ve boosted several posts and stories today about Google shuttering their goo.gl URL shortener service in August (I don’t think I ever used it, but I know it’s been used widely).
Now, I don’t think this automatically transgresses their original company motto (Don’t Be Evil), but I think it transgresses Will Wheaton’s mantra:
Don’t be a dick.
This is a dick move, Google.

Hey, @npub16xl…kqnp — I had a *very* specific dream last night about a “new” computer for Apple enthusiasts capable of running Mac OS 9 and whatever the last Classic-capable OS X was…and it was in a half scale Apple ][ enclosure!
Unlike most of my dreams, there were lots of references to people, places and things from real life, including an internal port in this machine labelled specifically as being for a BlueSCSI! It even had the official logo!
Your marketing budget is *really* paying off!

#QEMU gurus!
During March, I'm sure I got QEMU loading over X11 at some point (running on another machine, window open in Quartz on my iMac).
I went off on other adventures and left that by the wayside, but now I can't hit the magic incantations which got me there.
I think, maybe?, I had to specify the kb encoding somewhere or something, along with other stuff, but a lot of troubleshooting water has passed under the bridge and now I'm flummoxed.
This is for my #GlobalTalk setup.
Help!
