If I recall correctly, someone once put a $50 bill in the copy of their thesis stored in their uni's library - and checked every so often to see if anyone had opened the thesis to claim it.

Day 10 post ffs/ba:
In “questions you never thought about”… Does my phone / tablet recognize my face post-ffs?
Keep in mind I have #apple products, so your experience may vary with other devices (and other faces, and other procedures…)
My iPhone recognizes me about 1/3 of the time now. It’s fairly natural for my phone to look at me and go straight to passcode.
My iPad has recognized me exactly once since surgery - and, given the bandages I was wearing, I think that was just a weird confluence of what was covered and what wasn’t. It almost exclusively doesn’t recognize me anymore.
So… expect an interesting time with your phone (as it probably should be), and remember those pass codes!

@npub149u…nps4 We had to survive through the wrong puberty, trying to basically fake being this other person for decades, and get through heaven knows what other trauma just to get this far.
Transition is important, but there's a lot more to heal than what transition can fix. Be kind to yourself as you heal, and know that there's a lot of healing to do.

@npub189n…satx So much of this is work expectations, and societal expectations. So many people cannot stand uncertainty, and crave something to be certain about, something to believe in. For workplaces, uncertainty means lost profit, something to be excised. And yes; as others have pointed out, "but I can find out" is a good way of at least partially dealing with it. In the end, though, some things we will never know, and we have to live with it.

Ever have a day where it feels like each hour has its own unique character? It had all sorts of insanity, that can be summed up by one simple fact:
