We should read scriptures by themselves, without imposing an external interpretive framework.

Maybe in the Catholic church Riveria espoused an idea like pre-tribulation rapture, I realy don't know. But among evangelicals and fundamentalists the doctrine became popular as part of Darby's dispensationalism which Scofield Bible helped to popularize. It's not a doctrine with a long theological history in the church whether RC or Protestant. Doctrine of devils in my opinion and extra-biblical if the Margarent MacDonald so-called "visions" are the original source.
