@npub19am…qjn6 I'd say that's the problem of the documentation à la GNU. It happens a lot in Guile too.
There's fragmentation. The info is written in a way that only covers one type of users' needs and the rest are left out, making their journey way harder.

@npub19am…qjn6 Then when they are forced to manually code stuff, in order to fix their systems, you'll keep that?
It's a great platform for user-coders, but if they don't have the coding part... I don't think they can fit in guix. Mostly also if we consider the approach people follows in the IRC and the help-guix mailing list.
Users are encouraged/forced-to to write code...
I'm not saying it's bad, but it might be unexpected for them if it's not clearly stated.

I started using a en_US layout in my keyboard because it would be easier to type when programming and now I feel more comfortable in that than in spanish layout and I'm started to be bothered every time I have to use the spanish one.
WHY CAN'T I JUST ENJOY BOTH!!!???? AAAAAAAA
Also, I'm not comfortable with any of them now.

@npub1f3s…jzfc The language is more interesting maybe than the compiler. The compilation time system is way more reasonable than C macros or template metaprogramming. Also making the errors and the optionals explicit is a really good design decision.
The cross-compilation capabilities are also very interesting but not the best selling point imho.
Also guix provides many things, but most of them poorly. I'm still unable to compile anything reasonable for mingw in guix... :(
