@nprofile…2gcn This is not a novel insight but I see L'Étranger as an extremely genuine and remarkably early attempt to think through what we now call neurodivergence. People (my French lit teacher) would call that an anachronistic reading given autism was only in its infancy as a concept and a diagnosis at the time he wrote it. But I think that overlooks the simple fact that we exist in the world, people notice our differences and experience our way of being ourselves-in-relation-to-others. In being attentive to that and thoughtful about it, I think you are right, he would have been similarly interested in trans people, our bodies and our lives.

I met with my supervisor yesterday and she is cautiously confident that I will be able to re-enrol to finish off my #PhD.
I have an appointment on Monday with my psychiatrist to get the necessary letter that explains why I was so unproductive in 2024.
Slowly things are moving forward... please cross your digits for continued progress as I stagger towards the finish line in my ninth year of PhD study!

My Android keyboard (SwiftKey) keeps replacing perfectly typed words with other words it considers are more statistically probable, and if I'm not wearing my glasses I don't always notice until a while after I've sent the message, e-mail or toot. 😨

I think Outlook 365 committed an AI on my e-mails and it was actually useful so I feel extremely conflicted.
It gathered together a bunch of e-mails from people sending me their addresses one-by-one, which is an ADHD nightmare.
It popped them all back to the top of my inbox at 8am on the morning I start my work week, i.e. Tuesday not Monday.
I didn't manually select any of those e-mails to defer them until this time.

Goddamn. Listening to the Moon soundtrack. What a stonking great movie. The main theme is 7min long and it's a piece of creepy atmospheric minor key brilliance with a main theme of hope and endurance shining through. There's a hairdresser in one of the shops on the ground floor. It's gotta be a Mafia front. There's never anybody in there but the owner drives a Porsche SUV. Every afternoon he fires up an AMP and sings 50s karaoke loud enough to hear him on my Zoom calls and probably halfway down the block. I think today the loneliness has broken him: he's been singing the first verse and chorus of Fly Me to the Moon over and over for the past hour.
