Since 2015 I’ve been posting on Facebook about what a piece of shit the racist homophobic misogynistic fascist loving prick #ConorMcGregor is.
I’ve lost friends over him with one male (ex) friend telling me I was overreacting and asked me “why would you say that about him Anita, he’s a legend?” before he proceeded to block me.
I’m so glad #NikitaHand has been able to expose him for the scumbag he really is and absolute solidarity with her for her courage and bravery.

Have noticed a pattern with some supposedly leftie men on Mastodon.
If you disagree with them or challenge them on something they’ve said they’ll keep just repeating themselves and then just block or mute you.
I’ve seen men here engage in respectful debates with other men and listen to different perspectives but when me as a woman disagree they really don’t like it.
It’s glaringly obvious and no amount of sticking “feminist/woke/progressive” in your bio will hide your sexism/misogyny.

So #Trump is back on Twitter.
I really want to deactivate my account but I still use it to keep in contact with activists and to organise.
I no longer want to help bolster a platform that promotes hate and bigotry and harbours Nazis but I’ve contact with a network of people around the country who actively work against fascism.
It’s a genuine ethical dilemma.
Any ideas?

View of the Round Tower at #Glendalough
The monastic site was founded by St. Kevin and dates back to the 6th Century. It has a cathedral, a priest’s house built in the Romanesque style and several churches, the most famous being St. Kevin’s Church.
The graveyard beside it has examples of Celtic high crosses and the round tower is considered one of the best in Ireland.

One thing I find really grating when famous women die is that too often the photos used by the media are of when they were young and considered at their most beautiful based on societal standards.
I really noticed it with #SineadOConnor
She was 56 yet most photos used were when she was in her 20s or 30s. Women aging naturally with little to no cosmetic interventions to prolong “youthfulness” still makes too many people uncomfortable.
