Started Ion Fury and overall I’m disappointed.
The level design isn’t up to snuff, for one. Big area, three color keys. Big area, three color keys. Rinse and repeat.
And the game is quite punishing when you are hit, so it often feels safer to just use the aim bot mode of the basic gun than risk getting a big hp loss. Monotonous.
I will continue if I have the skill, it’s good enough I guess, but yeah…

ANSI which is not my preferred option but I surely can live with.
No backlight.
The white board is good but I would prefer custom.

I mean I could simply buy a new Illuminated Keyboard, but the last time I checked Logitech asked for an indecent price, higher than some mechanical keyboards.
Colors are great, too, until they aren’t. My eyes were opened by my last mouse, a lovely ‘cheap’ lavender mouse by Logitech. But I see you, OCD, no color scheme will please me and the next thing I know I will have to lube 100+ keys.

Reminds me of the last time I looked into fighting sticks and particularly custom ones. When you enter this rabbit hole, boy...
Because you think about the whole stick, but soon think about the finer details, the color of the main body, the art, the color of the buttons, maybe add some lights.
In a way it's interesting, creativity, creativity finds a way.
But then the sane part of my mind asked 'will you use it often ?' and I couldn't answer that with my dignity intact.

Having my own arcade cabinet was sort of a dream of mine, like a ton of nerds I bet.
But let's be real, forget the price, it seems as reasonable and well thought out as gobbling up a whole pot of ice cream when you are diabetic (I know, I am).
It's oh my god, sooo good. But also what did I just do and how will I live with this monstrosity.
Still would really like to see one with a good emu setup behind it.

HROT act 2 was played through yesterday. So very good.
I have yet to play Act3, probably today, but barring any catastrophe I feel confident in saying that it's one of the greats.
Like I said to some friends earlier, in a muddily delineated genre constituted of several different flavors, HROT is a perfect recreation of one of those flavors.

Cultic finished in two sittings.
5 hours long play-through, 10 bucks.
I feel really good about the length.
When the game begins to wear out its welcome, it ends. Perfect.
Cultic is, well first incredible for being a one man game (kudos to Jason Smith), but it's very good overall. While it's not Dusk / Amid Evil level good, it's a great entry in the boomer shooter genre.

Jesus, just got my second dumb answer from steam support about my firmware issue.
Not that I expected greatness, not that I particularly resent them, but talk about useless.
Me - Your new dock firmware isn't sending a picture to my monitor if I have Gsync activated.
1st answer - Have you read this FAQ my good sir ?
Me - No need, the issue is narrowed down, firmware, gsync, etc.
2nd answer - 'Steam Deck comes with an AMD APU. GSync is not compatible with AMD'.
Ok, well... ok.

That being said, I completely missed the boat on ugly cute games like Slayer X or the one I forgot which was basically Deus Ex but so ugly it could hurt your eyesight.
Also regretting to only watch the whole PS1 graphics horror game revival from a distance.
But there are only so many hours in the day when you have to... REFRESH THOSE TABS.

Started Tinykin on Deck. The good news is that the game runs pretty well on Deck, no fan overdriving or anything, good looking, maybe some rare drops.
The bad news is that it’s profoundly… there. A little more than gently boring.
So yeah, the game is far more of a 3d platformer than a Pikmin like. Big trouble, the platforming is nowhere near as tight as it should. Expect lots of falls.

I hated the Dreamcast. Arcade, arcade, arcade. The few JRPG were not translated.
Fast forward to today. I played some Canon Spike and Mars Matrix and I'm all hit in the feels.

I have conflicted feelings about long games these days. I suppose you could say that gaming is a hobby to me, and when I spend a month + on the same game it feels like work ?
But I love a good story and I'm naturally attracted by long games for that aspect.
So yeah, I still need to finish Persona 5 Royale, Baldur's Gate 3, and just had to seemingly drop Starfield because I like having some non gaming hours in the day, or the illusion of a normal life.

In my defense, I buy very cheap games these days. Like sub 10.
It's perfect because cheap games can experiment and don't overstay their welcome.
I really love Baldur's Gate 3, but it was the last straw. I'm tired about these 100+ hour games (and to be honest BG3 is not that long).

Just thought about a game demo I nearly forgot, and I would love for someone to name it and learn if it released or was canceled.
I played the demo during a steam next fest a couple years back, all I can recall is a cartoony art style and you play the butler of a vampire. Maybe both, that’s all I remember.
Classic 2d PnC gameplay. The demo took place in the vampire’s manor. I think there was a visitor. A woman ? Was the vampire asleep ?
