The initial estimate (2 years ago) for keeping California's Diablo Canyon nuclear plant operating was $5.2bn. Now PG&E says it's $8.3bn. And a former state energy commissioner says it's now more like $10 - $11.8bn and "you're pouring your money down a rat hole."

A fine example of the latest data-free clickbaity narrative:
The headline: “Electricity grids creak as AI demands soar”
Halfway down the article: “There is little doubt that the energy demands of data centres will rise in the coming years, but there is huge uncertainty over how much”
The reality: AFAIK, no grids are demonstrating stress due to data center demand. And IT globally (including all computers and electronics) still consumes less than 5% of grid power.
Don’t believe the hype.
