The headline: “Electricity grids creak as AI demands soar”
Halfway down the article: “There is little doubt that the energy demands of data centres will rise in the coming years, but there is huge uncertainty over how much”
The reality: AFAIK, no grids are demonstrating stress due to data center demand. And IT globally (including all computers and electronics) still consumes less than 5% of grid power.
Don’t believe the hype.
