Because Internet news became more convenient. A wide variety of information at the palm of their hands.
In this case, Twitter is more convenient because they have more people who they know over there. Also there are a lot of competitors who are basically building the same decentralised social protocol, like lens protocol. Even something as amazing as Reddit has a niche user base(I think).

Please don’t get me wrong. I’m not sceptical of the Nostr protocol. I think it has a great community. I’m just think what would get a wider adoption of this new paradigm. Maybe solving the key management issue, so onboarding gets easier.

Fair point. But say it were to replace something like Twitter, which also has a huge user base. Twitter is Centralized sure. I’m talking about it at a psychological level. Twitter will seem convenient for most of the people because they are used to that paradigm. Here it is also difficult to maintain key pairs.

Do normal people really care about censorship resistance? why would the general crowd (excluding a few nerd and “crypto” people) leave something like Twitter and use Nostr? Twitter already has a huge user base, so it has the established advantage of network effect. @jack @jb55
