I used it for a couple of years. It's what you describe: top up BTC and spend fiat. Another one I used is Crypto.com, also good, but slightly different: you top up the card with fiat converted from BTC you have in your account.

Even Nostr is still widely misunderstood. People assume you can build stuff "on Nostr" as you would build a "dapp" (whatever that means) "on Ethereum".
Platforms - of which Ethereum and the like are the culmination - are a mind virus that skews your whole world view.
A "dapp" cannot logically be built "on a platform". It has to be a stand-alone app that you can self-host and which *uses* open protocols, such as Bitcoin and Nostr to interact with other apps.

Nostr and REST can cohabit peacefully. There is no reason to be a Nostr maximalist. See Blossom, for example. It works *together with* Nostr rather than trying to mutate Nostr into what it is not.

Unfortunately, I don't see how NIP-96 fixes it either. Because if you NIP-96 to multiple servers, and thus get multiple download URLs, you end up with different NIP-94 events...
Maybe if a NIP-94 event could refer to multiple URLs - would that be an option?
But even then - adding an 11th server, post factum, after the first 10, would still change the NIP-94 event ID, so all notes pointing to the event referring to 10 servers would not point to the 11th. Right?

I always found it strange that nostr explicitly states that relays should not be talking to other relays. And perhaps that is so just to make it clear that it is not a P2P network where relays are guaranteed to sync with each other.
On the other hand, while relays must only talk to "clients", nobody forbids a piece of software to be both a relay and a client at the same time. So yes...

Technically you can have anything. Nostr is loosely enough defined to allow for that. Which is both its strong and its weak point.

The difference is in the way most people build nostr apps.
Most nostr apps use the nostr relays both for data storage and as actual relays (to relay data between the entities storing the data and the client apps).
In Bluesky there is a clear distinction between relays and PDSes, both of which you can self-host, which makes the model much easier to understand, which in my opinion is a huge plus.

Yeah we tried to avoid touching the private key. This is the best we came up with... 6 months ago or so.
Since then we pretty much rewrote the whole thing, including the log in. The new version just asks your extension to sign an event, but the event never gets sent to relays.

The new version, with improved Nostr log in, is not live yet. Coming in 2 weeks. Final bug fixes and testing underway. What you tried is a very old version of our Nostr log in which worked by sending you a DM. We use the extension to log in now.
