doesn't help that many gamedevs will use higher then average specs for development (because of tools etc) but that causes a bit of performance debt. Unless it's like an AAA-level project, working on a lower spec PC usually helps and is preferable imo. Laptops with integrated gpus are good benchmarks too.

a lot of issues I see on initial stages of consoles ports are due to PCs being so much faster that we can get away with it. Doesn't even look like an issue until you dig deeper and the root cause actually makes sense. It's just that desktop PCs will just brute force most stuff.

as I see more software that works in the fediverse, I start to wonder if we don't need some sort of "unique login" system that we could use across mastodon, lemmy, bookwyrm, etc etc. Some sort of decentralized login validation system. Started watching Poker Face mostly because Natasha Lyonne usually does great performances, but this is a neat series. It's a murder mystery where each episode it's a new thing, which a the sea of cliffhanger shows, not only is a bit refreshing, but also a throwback to the old format shows, where you could just start watching any episode. Sadly I don't think this will survive long, but I recommend watching it.

for real, these days a 2D engine is not as hard to assemble together, there are several open-source frameworks that will speed up that process a lot. 3D is a different thing, but for 2D it's doable for 1 person only.

progress!!! took me way longer to properly sign this then to have it compiling, seems like from api 30+ there's a minimum requirement of signing scheem v2, and it took me a while to change my toolchain to accommodate that. Honestly certificates is one of the worst parts in iOS and Android.

some of my software lifetime license key purchases I did several years ago (usually more expensive) are starting to pay off since most stuff moving to subscriptions or 4-5x time more expensive. Was just recommending a software to a friend, I paied 19€ in 2016, it now costs 99€ + 19/year for updates. Luckily either many companies honour the free updates or Windows is stable enough with retro-compatibility.
