My gut reaction while watching the keynote is that I absolutely do not want this. Other than social media apps, I am almost always in the Photos app and this just seems conceptually hard for me to grasp how to get to things.

This is something. Icelandair’s in-flight entertainment system is produced by a third party for them. The Icelandic parts of it are supposedly handled by a translation company that the third party employs. It seems that the translation company started using AI and the quality is terrible and no one at Icelandair group noticed until a passenger complained.

@npub1mm3…ft6j I really like the Icelandic way to do identity verification. Your ID number is tied to an authentication method (a phone SIM app or a smartphone app among other methods). To verify it’s you, you enter your number and the service asks whatever system you’ve chosen to send you a request. Then you can accept or decline.
They use it for financial transactions to voting.

I thought this was interesting data. I had my Aranet CO2 monitor with me. I saw the same data on other flights. Planes seem to be bad until they get under their own power (and presumably turn on the AC). Tour-style buses are bad. Metro rail seems ok!
Caveats: I’m not sure how correlated low CO2 levels are with low covid levels. The Aranet was in my backpack. I’m not a scientist.

1. Build protected bike lanes. If there’s no curb, metal bollard, or low wall, it isn’t protected.
2. Normalize blocking the driving lanes. If a commercial vehicle stops in a driving lane, they get the normal double parking ticket. If they stop in a pedestrian crosswalk or bike lane, 10X the fine, third fine results in impoundment for as many days as the corporate owner has fines. No offloading of cargo.
