For really places it is common to pump heat from the ground instead of air. That way air temperature is not a problem.

Would be cool to have a feed with people close, but for that it zip code is way to fine-grained.
Worked with maps before, any assumption you make about zip codes will break somewhere.
Maybe some GPS coordinate grid, easiest could be to remove some digits at the end of the coordinated.

The argument that religious beliefs are good for society is IMO very week. I see very little correlation between safe, prosperous, high-trust societies and religious beliefs.
What I see is religion beeing used as an effective excuses to do what you would have otherwise already done, bee it good and bad.
The issues with that is of course that we often exempt religious beliefs from the scrutiny and demands we place on other beliefs. Both demands from within and for each others.

I think this clearly shows that regular people should never know there is a lightning network nor that there is something called on chain.
bitcoin should just take 2 seconds to send and cost 2 cents.
Merchants accepting bitcoin in a way that does not meet this requirement is doing the network more harm than good right now.

Worried about the #[0] trend. Feels like the proof of stake version of nostr while paid relays with lightning is the proof of work version.
The user experience of having to convince 5 people you are not a bot before gaining proper access to the platform seems bad.
If this is popular you might have issues to get the attention of verified people beacuse they filter out non verified bots.
Reminds me of the torrenting sites where you where required to build a reputation by seeding but it was essentially impossible to get a good ratio as a new user.
The decentralization aspect is troubling as well. This does not look to be just another NIP. It is by putting some people at the top of a trust hierarchy.

Depending on where you are coming from, but making home made food, listening to when you are full, varied foods including vegtable/fruit, and reduce sugar goes a long way.
Processed meat and beef can also be good to reduce, appears in a lot of studies in the wrong column. Incorporating som lentils, peas, and/or beans are good. Olive oil also. I am a fan of the milder taste of canola oil for cooking.

We can never guarantee that governments will not make it illegal to use bitcoin in a pseudonymous way. Depending on technology we can make it more or less difficult.
For example, It is much harder to limit the freedom of individuals than it is to limit the freedom companies are allowed to give customers.
Further, torrenting is a good example of technology making legislation inefficient even if it actually becomes illegal for individuals.

I care about buying groceries with bitcoin. Government can and and should ask questions if large unexplained sums appear. That does not mean that we should be ok with every transaction beein de-anonymized.
There is still a value in moving away from the current system where all interactions with digital money is through companies with KYC requirements.
My fear is that we just recreate the current system but with lightning as a settlement layer. We should aim to win back more freedoms than that.

The hardware wallet will make it really hard to take your bitcoin even if your main computer/phone is compromised. The steel backup protects you from the even larger dangers to your bitcoin: water, fire, and someone cleaning out your papers.

I am using fedora silverblue. There is also a more traditional fedora workstation just like there are different flavors of Ubuntu.
A tip is to try them out in GNOME boxes. That way you do not need to reinstall the entire computer to try out something new.
There are no wrong choices, pick what works well for you.

Why should a person who discovered some information ever lose their copyright on that information?
Because it produce better societal outcomes if they do.
If you spend 20 years of your life to discover some piece of information that creates real change in the world, why should the benefit of your blood, sweat and tears be limited in time?
(This is based on my morals so your milage may vary)
The economy exist to produce goods (including information) for consumers. The only consideration when constructing incentives is optimizing for the consumers.
And how long should the copyright last?
Just long enough so that the value of produced information covers the cost of production and a risk adjusted profit.
This is highly sector specific and might change over time.
One thing to note is that given constant revenue from the information, doubling the copyright does not actually double the vale of the information as future cashflows are discounted with the risk free rate. The societal cost of not having that information free double.
