Fundamentally, if we want rights we need to fight for them in the political system.
Freedome tech makes it harder to outlaw privacy and limit freedom of speech. Companies does not have the same rights as people. If we stop relying on centralised companies we have more rights.
Freedome tech makes enforcement harder. Torrenting is the example that comes to mind. Unlimited access music and movie streaming would imo not have happened without p2p piracy.
