Fuel poverty is when you spend more than 10% of your income on the basics such as heat/light/water.
The state pension is about £920 every 4 weeks.
The avg energy bill under the new cap will be £143 per month, but the elderly need more heat to keep as warm as the avg person. So we can add 10-20% to that, meaning it's £158-171. That's 17.5 to 19.5% of their income.
That doesn't even include water bills.

Every time I was wrong.
What I read was a lesson in morality and ethics, a novel about giving a voice to the voiceless. Novels that tackled racism, gender politics, fascism and everything else that's used as a weapon to treat people poorly for being different to what they think is 'normal'.

The English language has two different terms for words adopted into it.
I've mentioned 'Loanwords; previously. These are words imported in their original form. Hors D'ourves for example.
There are also 'calque' words which are translated from the original language, such as 'beer garden'
Ironically, 'calque' is a 'loanword' whilst 'loanword' is a 'calque' from the German word 'lehnwort'

WE DID IT!!!
A full 24hrs running the house entirely on #Solar & #Battery power
We imported just 0.1kwh of electric the whole day... and that's from the moments across the day when the inverter is switching between battery/solar loads. We'll never have a fully 0kwh day, there will always be a tiny trickle here and there. Same if the load exceeds the max generation and battery power possible (around 6.4kw).

Things I love about the English language and why so many fucking hate it.
It has alternating 'stress' patterns that indicate if a word is a noun or verb based on if the first or second syllable are stressed.
For example

Verb: reCORD
or

It's a very subtle difference, and it's both beautiful and confusing as fuck to anyone who never learned it natively.

I've had a book for 12 months... I still haven't finished it... because when I do... there are no more.
I want to see how the story ends after 9 epics novels... But I don't want it to end.
So I drip feed myself a chapter or two every few weeks.
Once I'm done... I'll start over again from book 1... which I've now read about 7 times in 10yrs.
I tend to restart the series over again with each new novel approaching. 7 for book 1, 6 for book 2 and so forth. 7-8 I've only read once

So it appears that #AnyDesk has decided to go down the route of every other remote desktop access software.
Restricting their free personal use access to try and force people to give them money.
This would be the 3rd time I've had to start looking for new software.
I use it to access the 3 systems in my own home only.

Nothing interesting happened today.
Unless you count the delicious roast lamb lunch with family and the fabulous devils food cake that I made yesterday served with some whipped double cream.
Sent them home with a few extra slices as the cake made 12 slices and it's rich enough that you only need a small slice or it's a little sickly.
It was almost like eating fudge without the overdose of sweetness... almost perfect.

My folks benefited from buying their council house for £11200 in the mid 80's.
The tories typically wasted that money that should have been ring fenced for the building of new homes. Instead they created a housing crisis that continues to get worse 40yrs later.
Selling of existing housing stock to housing associations who allow them to become rundown and unfit for habitation.
Plus developers who are allowed to sit on land, building slowly to keep prices high.

I've been waiting 20yrs for fuel cell vehicles because it's a serious alternative to EV's which shift consumption of fossil fuels out of towns where they can't rely on renewable energy sources.
Plus in the UK, it's estimated that some 40-50% of housing stock is simply unsuitable for home charging of EV's due to narrow streets, a lack of off road parking and overcrowded roads with not enough parking for all of the homes to begin with.

Just watched the new #SpiderMan #SpiderVerse animated movie.
It's awesome. I loved the first one, and this one is even better. The animation stlye that made the other so good, has been kicked up a notch and the depth of the story is amazing. The character building is better than any movie in the MCU and Sony have done themselves proud with this one.

Sometimes we act normal, we say we're ok... because we've become so apathetic to the indifference of everyone else that it's no longer worth the effort to attempt to explain anything to people who pretend to listen and then go right back to the same attitudes and behaviours.

I still remember being a little kid and hearing the Jean Michel Jarre soundtrack to an old Commodore 64 game I played back in the mid 80's called Suicide Express.
It's still possibly my first experience of hearing just how amazing computers could sound... and all done on a little piece of silicon called the SID chip.

I can't vote today, because I now live in Wales. But if you can vote, please do. Vote tactically where you can for the party most likely to defeat any tory candidate.
What the tories have done to this country is disgusting, they are robbing you the voters blind. The level of corruption, bigotry and hate has never been higher and it's all coming from within their party. Giving other bigots and extremists the belief that their views are acceptable again.
Prove them wrong...
