Finished Midnight Tides, the “5th” Malazan novel.
I enjoyed it, but I still don’t know at all how it fits with the rest. Other than the very elaborate back story for a character in House of Chains. I’m going to have to look at the prologue of that one real quick.
It can be read pretty much anytime before Bonehunters I believe, you could even start with it.

Got my 1k Imperial Guard army ready for the team tournament and took it for a spin.
We got crushed, losing first turn didn’t help.
Angron rolled into the left flank, but he didn’t start blowing up basilisks until turn 2.
Magnus took two turns to wipe my command squad.
I tried a desperate gamble to dislodge some thousand sons from an objective and they stubbornly held on.
Had fun.
