Geopolitical realism demands building a relationship with the Saudis, and both sides agree on this. What do you think we can do to compete without help from these countries?

@npub12cc…gd59 oh but you can add all of the filter lists to the Brave shield manually in the settings. You can add uBO and AdGuard filter lists afaik

And there are critiques of capitalism I could pile on myself, but even cumulatively they do not justify seizing and abolishing private property in favor of state control of the economy, which is far FAR more conductive to rampant abuse and corruption

@npub1ll8…gepf @npub1q7k…c5yf Labor has never done less than it does now and continues to shift away from labor intensive methods the wealthier a country becomes. Only in undeveloped regions has the labor not been displaced by machines, and they can't wait for the shift to happen.
Socialist countries never cleaned up the air because no one was free to complain about the poor air quality in the first place. But now you can, and it is cleaner than ever before. Environmental regulation is not socialism.

Capitalism's growth consists of making the same input more efficiently produce more output, thus being perfectly consistent with a finite planet. It is socialism that would struggle with a growing population without technological innovation to keep up with them. But I suspect you believe that population growth is also not so desirable, as I've always seen an anti-human aspect to socialist thinking that requires people to act unnaturally against their instincts.

@npub1q7k…c5yf @npub1ll8…gepf life would be undoubtedly more difficult and with far fewer medical and technological advancements. We got to where we are because we wanted to. Capitalism adds no bonus incentive, it is merely providing for what was already desired, namely a progressively more comfortable life free of disease and pain.
It is because of capitalism that we have time now to critique Plato, which you may notice we are more than capable of doing now if we so wish

@npub1ll8…gepf Please review socialism's environmental record, and perhaps provide a realistic suggestion as to how we should solve the climate crisis without drastic economic pain (aka hurting those most vulnerable to economic shocks --> the poor)
