Capitalism's growth consists of making the same input more efficiently produce more output, thus being perfectly consistent with a finite planet. It is socialism that would struggle with a growing population without technological innovation to keep up with them. But I suspect you believe that population growth is also not so desirable, as I've always seen an anti-human aspect to socialist thinking that requires people to act unnaturally against their instincts.
