hey #3DPrinting #cad #design bubble: I am in need to construct a modular carrier for gaming terrain & miniatures. The idea is that I want to have brace parts into which I can slide 5mm foamcore. In the end, all those should snap together into two portable shelving unit that can be fastened together. for transport.
I have sketches and ideas, but I suck at that sort of CAD (although willing to learn!). Anyone wants to collaborate on this?

Just watched a mom walking by with a toddler at her hand. Toddler sees a loose object on the ground, picks it up. Mom tells kid not to, to put it back.

I'm in the process of setting up a cyberdeck - and I need a brain.
What I want is a low-power board computer that can run a simple Linux, ideally booting right into an Obsidian interface. But if it is just text mode, I'll be happy too.
The "must have" is bluetooth (for inputs) and video-out and PD over USB-C. The smaller the formfactor and power consumption needs the better.
So, dear #lazyfedi , #followerpower and #cyberdeck enthusiasts: What would fit the bill and is cheap?

@npub1yhj…3h3t Out of genuine curiosity, and I guess @npub1sly…t8j7 also has something to say here: 10-20 years ago, there was the (still ongoing) debate on filesharing and media piracy. One of the arguments there was "look, you cannot meaningfully crack down on this due to technology, and if you do anyway, the societal costs would be too high".
That sounds eerily familiar to what the big AI proponents say today.
So, is their argument equally valid? And if not, why? (My gut feeling is that the societal cost for regulating the AI business models is a lot less than completely prohibiting filesharing. On top of that, filesharing is mostly only forbidden because copyright is borked - but then, isn't copyright one of the main venues of argument by those who critize OpenAI et al?

@npub1sly…t8j7 Ich behaupte mal, dass eine Unterrichtseinheit, die sich mit den Grundlagen von "was ist KI überhaupt, und was ist der Unterschied zwischen Big Bird und Big Data?" schon sehr sinnvoll wäre.
Um die zu halten, braucht es nicht einmal einen Computer im Klassenzimmer.
