Times flies. I just missed my one month anniversary since I started using my Framework Laptop 16 and Fedora as my primary laptop.
I still have to write up my experiences of switching from macOS to Fedora. Hopefully I'll have some time in the coming week for that.
What I will say is that I've given up on Evolution and switched to Thunderbird for e-mail, calendar and contacts, even with Apple iCloud.

I think I'm okay with it with the Kapton tape mod. I consider it to be similar to folks who want a slightly different sound or feel to their mechanical keyboards and using different tape mods.
If it does get worse over time, I'll open up a support request. Thanks!

As I mentioned in my blog post on my Framework Laptop 16 where the trackpad towards the front edge of the laptop has more play in it then I would prefer.
The temporary fix I tried first was to press down on the metal bar under the trackpad, but it would eventually flatten out as I clicked on the trackpad over time.
The current attempt to fix it is to put some Kapton tape on that metal bar, but avoiding the center where the actuation mechanism resides. So far, it has eliminated the extra play. Will have to see how long that works.

I've been pretty happy with DigitalOcean and Hetzner Cloud defaults for Debian and Ubuntu images. I haven't checked out Akamai/Linode, but should give them a try sometime.
I also really like that Hetzner Cloud has ARM instances available, but they are currently available only in the EU.
I wish there were other options outside of AWS, Azure, Google Compute and Oracle that had ARM instances.

One of the first things I do when I deploy a new VPS is to change the port OpenSSH listens on, apply a pre-defined firewall rule, install and set up a WireGuard tunnel, then block SSH at the firewall.

Agreed for workloads that don't need leading or bleeding edge performance or I/O needs.
On the flip side, a 32 core 2nd gen AMD EPYC chip with faster base clocks, much more I/O and cache and better IPC can be had with an AMD TDP of ~160 W.
If I were still in IT and needed machines for non-critical workloads and had enough spares to cover failures, I would use them for dev testing or running lower-spec VDI servers.

I think most of those processors were introduced around 6-7 years ago, so they've basically fallen out of favor for most enterprise and cloud hosting companies.
While performance is good, but not in terms of IPC or performance/watt compared to 2nd or even 3rd gen AMD EPYC or Intel Sapphire Rapids.
